USB Gaming Headset

Hello, I have purchase Creative Sound Blaster Arena headset about a month ago and out of no where the sound and mic all together have stop. When I plug the headset in and out of my usb ports the computer notifies me "New hard drive found". And when it attempts to download the driver from the cd again it fails. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it plenty of times. I have already install all recent drivers as well and nothing. Now it doesnt notify me but when i go look at my device and printers "Creative headset firmware updater" is below the unspecified section. I have tried both on my desktop and laptop and the problem is the same. Please help :/

(This headset is not worth 100 bucks, I feel sharp pains on my head and ears after playing awhile, idk if its me but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.)

Hi, Windows 7 don't support some kinds of headsets, maybe you have same problem?

Plug your Headset > Sound windows will open and it'll ask you to select Headset, do it and press OK.

Go to Start > type in Search field "Set up microphone" and press Enter > Follow steps inside and let me know if something change.

The headset worked on both pc's. I was playing TF2 and out of no where it stopped. I no i have to change my default every time i plug it in. Just for some reason it saids its a new hard drive and doesnt recognize it when the drivers are already installed. I have read other forums and they have said something in the system file. In Usb, inf, files. I wasnt so sure in messing with my system32 files because I am unaware of them.

Press AGREE button and download it to your Desktop.
Install and restart your computer without unplugin your headset.

I have already download the driver from the website and reinstalled them multiple times. The device status is: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) I think it is a usb problem in the system folder. A different forum said the problem mite be located in the C:windows/system32/driverStore/ FileRepository folders under usb. Something about missing files? I am not sure.

But, did you tried to Uninstall driver, restart computer, and than install it as new one ? try that too, maybe you can bug Windows. I'm not sure that we have to edit anything inside DriverStore.. I suggest you to try Creative ALchemy 1.41.02 . It says something about USB Speaker.

lol yes I uninstalled and restarted and reinstalled. Idk I contacted creative and they dont have tech support to help me with this problem :/ They just want me to ship it to them with my expenses which I dont want to if its a simple system issue.

It's strange problem because Windows 7 support that model of Headset, and you have a Driver to download anyway. Let us know if they get you fix.

The problem happened on my Vista laptop and then I tired it on the desktop which had 7, the same problem happened.

Than, it's probably headset issue.
