AIX Compiler installation

Hi,

We have AIX box which has xlc version 6 for compiling C/C++. Is it possible to install an additional xlc compiler of version 5( downgrade basically) because one of the application needs the older version?

So we would like to know if single AIX box can hold two versions of xlc compiler at the same time. Incase yes, please advise on the steps to follow to install and where to get the software etc..

Not on the one Operating System (Vista) no!

You can partition your hard drive and install another operating system on it or better still, why dont you use a freeware version of Microsoft’s VirtualPC, or its competitor VMWare.

If you have your Vista install disc, then you can install another OS on a virtual machine and run the other version of xlc on it, all from the one computer!
