Hi, I am currently ridding my partners laptop of the annoying WinPc Antivirus. I need to access safe mode to remove one file that wont leave. The problem is safe mode has been password protected, and as it is her Schools laptop the password for safe mode was randomly generated (I was there last year and managed to obtain the password but have since lost it) What I would like to know if there is anyway I can get into safe mode without having her ask the IT staff at her school, as they will not budge and insist the only remedy is a re-image. Sorry if this is in the wrong section or violates any TOS.

Thanks.

Hello,

There isn't a way to do so unless you have another admin account on the computer. We might be able to help you remove it in normal boot mode.

Read this: http://www.geekpolice.net/-t3821.htm

And post your HijackThis log here: http://www.geekpolice.net/virus-spyware-malware-removal-f11/

If not, maybe you can tell the IT staff at her school that you have found some malware professionals on a website with the knowledge to remove it without doing a re-image.
