Taskbar problem

Hello
The buttons on my taskbar seem to be appearing on the right hand side instead of the left, and if i have more than one window open, it seems to not like taking up more space than the width of one taskbar button, causing arrows which then flick between the buttons. How to i change the settings for it to go back to normal? This happened suddenly yesterday and i cant find anything in the taskbar properties which fix it. Ive tried restarting the computer, but this hasnt worked

Right click the taskbar >> uncheck Lock the Taskbar >> you should see a line beside the quick launch icons. Drag it to the left.
