Ok, so I got the IS 2010 virus and ran super anti spyware. Now when I reboot, it automatically logs me off after entering login information.

Please help!

Thanks!

Hello.
Lets try using a boot disc.

Avira AntiVir Rescue System is a Linux-based application that allows accessing computers that cannot be booted anymore.

  • Download The Avira AntiVir Rescue System from Antivir.de.
  • Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD.
  • Then please use that CD/DVD with Avira Rescue System to boot your computer.
You'll get a boot option to either boot from hard drive or AntiVir Rescue System.

Hello, did you insert the DVD to the right drive? Did you get the boot option to into Antivir rescue system?

Hello.
We may need to change your boot order. See this guide:
http://www.whitecanyon.com/how-to-change-boot-order.php

See if you can boot from it once your boot order has the CD as 1st boot option.

No luck...I even disabled the HD from booting and still no luck booting from the disk. Even tried booting on another PC and no luck. When I disable the HD from the boot sequence, the screen comes up and says the DVD/CD Drive has no valid operating system.

Re-enabled default settings in BIOS. Then hit the Think Vantage button (IBM Thinkpad) and chose a temporary boot device and chose the DVD drive... Still ends up booting from the hard drive.

Ok, so I got it to boot as it is supposed to on my working PC, so I know the disk is working properly, but on my infected laptop it will not boot from the disk

Can you boot to safe mode? does the malware log you off straight away in safe mode also?

Let me know.

I can not boot at all no matter what. In regular startup, it starts loading as normal, than says "saving settings" and then "logging off" and back to the Welcome to Windows screen. Safe mode, safe mode with networking and safe mode with dos prompt all give me the Blue screen of death.

Ok, rewrote the AntiVir to a CD as opposed to dvd. That seemed to work for whatever reason. Scanner is running now. We'll see what happens.

I appreciate all the help. Since I managed to save all my files using Bitdefender, I decided to just reimage the laptop.

Thanks again.
