Antivirus System Pro

My computer has been infected by Antivirus System Pro. I can't run any program. I was reading your postings and tried to run Hijackthis but always says the program is infected. What can I do? Help please

Rename ComboFix.exe to commy.exe before you save it to your Desktop

• Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools A guide to do this can be found here
  
• Click Start>Run then copy paste the following command into the Run box & click OK "%userprofile%\desktop\commy.exe" /stepdel
  
• As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  
• Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console

Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

• Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
  
• When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the contents of C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
  

I would also like to see a list of installed programs, so please do this:
Click Start > Run then copy/paste the following single-line command into the Run box and click OK:

C:\Qoobox\Add-Remove Programs.txt

In your next reply, please include the ComboFix log and the Add-Remove Programs log.

I finally could disable the Mcfee, but anytime I try to execute the command, the alert window shows up saying the file commy.exe is infected. What else can I do?

Please run Trend Micro Housecall online scan.

• Click Scan now.
  
• Read and put a Check next to Yes I accept the terms of use.
  
• Click the Launching HouseCall>> button.
  
• If confirmed that HouseCall can run on your system, under Using Java-based HouseCall kernel click the Starting HouseCall>> button.
  
• You may receive a Security Warning about the TrendMicro Java applet, click YES.
  
• Under Scan complete computer for malware, grayware, and vulnerabilities click the Next>> button.
  
• Please be patient while it installs, updates, and scans your system.
  
• Once the scan is complete, it will take you to the summary page.
  
• Under Cleanup options, choose clean all detected infections automatically.
  
• Click the Clean now>> button.
  
• If anything was found you may be prompted to run the scan again, you can just close the browser window.

Please try HouseCall.

After trying many times I downloaded the HouseCall but at the end I get this error:

The housecall says an Internal error has prevented HouseCall from opening. Do you want to visit the HouseCall website to get the latest version and try again? (E:1034112965:7).

Please download DrWeb-CureIt and save it to your Desktop. Do NOT perform a scan yet

• Double-click on drweb-cureit.exe to start the program.
  An Express Scan of your PC notice will appear.
  
• Under Start the Express Scan Now, Click OK to start the scan.
  This is a short scan that will scan the files currently running in memory.
  If something is found, click the Yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it.
  
• Once the short scan has finished, Click Options > Change settings
  
• Choose the Scan tab and UNcheck Heuristic analysis
  
• Back at the main window, click Custom Scan, then Select drives (a red dot will show which drives have been chosen).
  
• Then click the Start/Stop Scanning button (green arrow on the right, and the scan will start.
  
• When finished, a message will be displayed at the bottom advising if any viruses were found.
  
• Click Yes to all if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  
• When the scan has finished, look if you can see the icon next to the files found.
  If so, click it, then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable.
  (This will move it to the C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\DoctorWeb\Quarantine folder if it can't be cured)
  
• Next, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list.
  
• Save the DrWeb.csv report to your Desktop.
  
• Exit Dr.Web Cureit when you have finished.
  
• Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
  
• After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web in your next reply. (You can use Notepad to open the DrWeb.cvs report)
  

Nop, I can't execute the program. It says that the file is infected. Please don't tell me I need to format the computer.

I am sorry for the bad news. I do not understand why these mean people make such harsh viruses, and I wish there was a way to clean your system without everything being damaged. But, the problem is, cleaning the system, most files will be damaged. It is like trying to clean up a city that just had a tornado or hurricane run through it. Takes rebuilding, and time to set back up.

I could have the malwarebytes working and found 4 threaths and it cleaned them. I did the same yesterday but after normal rebooting the popups windows came back. I am working in safe mode right now and see i f I can do something else. Thanks anyway, keep me posted please if you find something that works. I don't want to give up.

DragonMaster, seems like I got rid of the nightmare, although I am not sure yet. It has been two hours without any weird things happening in my computer.

Let me tell you what I did
1. After many times trying, I had the malwarebytes working, I updated it, found 4 threaths and it cleaned them.
2. Reebot in safe mode (i haven't been able to do this before)
3. Updated Mcfee

My husband found this website http://www.myantispyware.com/2009/06/05/how-to-remove-antivirus-system-pro-uninstall-instructions/, I thought what the h...., I didn't have anything to lose, so I followed the instructions, and reboot normally. After that No alerts, no threatens , no porn and viagra webpages, seems like it is working normally.

I have rebooted twice in the last 2 hours and everything seems to work fine. I am still scared, I want to believe that really everything is OK but I don't trust. Please let me know what you think.

Malwarebytes is usually not blocked by Virut.

Delete your copy of ComboFix; grab a fresh copy, except before you download it, rename it to blackpudding.bat


Navigate to Start --> Run, and enter the following command exactly as shown:

"%userprofile%\desktop\blackpudding.bat" /killall

See if ComboFix will run now.
