Zafi B removal...

Earlier tonight, my firewall turned itself off and began to close all my programs, resulting in a restart. When my laptop booted up, I got a pop up saying something about Zafi B and how it can access my financial accounts and such. I used Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and the popup disappeared, but I just wanted to make sure everything is gone and that it is okay for me to log onto my banking and email accounts.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Do not run it yet.

Now open a new notepad file.
Input this into the notepad file:

Save this as CFScript.txt, save it to your desktop also.
Then drag and drop CFScript.txt into combofix as seen below:


This will open combofix.exe again, agree to it's terms and allow it to run, it may want to reboot after it's done. Post the resulting log back here.

The first time I tried to download this program, a virus warning popped up, but now it won't let me download it at all, even after a restart, so I tried it on IE , but it won't download either. It is detected as "RemAdm-ProcLaunch!171"

Mcafee getting in the way.

Please right click the Mcafee icon in your tray > Exit
If you get an alert saying it's disabled and you are not un-protected, just ignore, because we need to disable Mcafee in order to run Combofix.

I also notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with our fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

Please make sure Teatimer is disable before we do this, otherwise this fix will fail.

Can you download Combofix now?

When I right click on the McAfee sign, I do not have an option to exit. When I open up the program, the option to disable is in gray. I tried using ctrl alt del, but it won't close the program either. Is it because this is a laptop given to me from my university?

Probably.
You may need to get in contact with them and ask them to turn restrictions off, because we can't remove this infection the easy way.

We can use another tool to kill the files and you'll need to reset the Firefox hijack manually.

I wouldn't just yet, your Firefox is still hijacked are you will still keep getting re-directs in Firefox until the infection is removed.

Ask your techs if he can give that laptop admin rights, then I will be happy to tackle the infection.
