internet explorer problems

hi please help when i go on to internet it keeps droping out circle starts to revolve if i click on the screen it goes white then says internet explorer has stoped working

1. Run a full virus scan
2. Reboot into safemode\w networking (See if you can get on)

Which version of explorer are you using?
