I am still unable to get updates for MalwareBites Anti-Malware.

The version I have is 9/10/2009. I do not know if a more recent copy is available.

It has to be fixed in IE's setting manually, and then in Hijack This if the line pointed out is still there.

Yes. I fixed the proxy (W. Explorer and Firefox) on the browsers.

Do I need to run HijackThis again? And send the log?

Mcafee maybe interfering here, uninstall it for now, then re-scan with Hijack This and post the new log.

Maybe I was right, that proxy line is gone this time.
Can you update MBAM now?

I can not update MBAM. I still get the same error.
The version of MBAM I have is the most current. I reviewed CNET for the most recent release 2009.9.10

Finally, even though McAfee was removed: 1- I still get a McAfee pop-up about not being protected and 2- I am unable to re-install McAfee again.

There are 2 issues still.

1-I uninstalled McAfee at your previous recommendation. Now I can NOT re-install McAfee.
I still receive a pop-up window regarding McAfee needs repair though. Is there McAfee junk on my computer? McAfee appears on the log file above.

2-My task bar clock is on military time now. How do I re-set it to 'normal' time?

What about the McAfee pop-up window, even though I had 'REMOVED' via Control Panel?

McAfee was from my ISP.

It was free.

Avira is free too, but much smaller. Just because Mcafee are a bigger name doesn't mean they are better.

Using McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool
· Double click the MCPR.exe
· A Command Line window will be displayed, and then close automatically.
· Wait for a second Command Line window to be displayed. Note: Do not double-click MCPR.exe again, you may have to wait up to 1 minute for the next window to appear.
· After the second window appears, the program will begin the cleanup.
· Observe the installation, which could take several minutes. The following message will be displayed in the Command Line window: The machine must reboot to complete the un-installation. Reboot now? [y.n]
· Press Y on the keyboard.
· Wait for the computer to restart.
· All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.

Try and re-install Mcafee now.

Another thing I noticed is in the Taskbar and Startup Menu Properties- Antivirus System Pro is still listed as an 'Update-but Inactive'. As well as Windows Updates, etc. Did I explain that clear?

Also, could you send me a link for Windows updates. I am paranoid about surfing for it. Please?

On a different note, 'office person' gave me copy of Win Cd Boot-BartPE GUI when they over heard my virus issues (whining at work).

When I ran this program, it did not boot-up my C: drive. 'Office person' said this was bad news. I computer is 'Super Toast' since this program would not be acknowledged on the re-boot. Office person' said I do not own the re-boot anymore. Your thoughts?

A boot CD is always helpful in a tight spot, but not needed, the malware is gone.

Did you re-install Mcafee now?

• Open HijackThis.
  
• When Hijack This opens, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  
• Then select "Open Uninstall Manager"
  
• Click on "Save List..." (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  
• Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Only remaining issue is the task bar clock remaining in military time.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.
