Using MacBook Pro Model A1212 (April 2007) SL 10.6.1, updated Virus Barrier X5, v 10.5.9 (ok for SL) worked perfectly for months until this morning, downloaded editorial articles from New York Times and ** see CNET article follows:** More: More: http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-10351460-83.html?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-5 ** subsequently VB X5 crashes every time within seconds of start.

Deleted all versions of X5, downloaded from Intego, however crashes every time.

Have external copies of everything, not connected until this issue resolved.

I do have a crash report, long as usual, not useful to me but can be provided if helpful to others.

Any help will be appreciated.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do when it comes to Macs as none of our tools were designed to work with Macs :'(

Yes, I thought that might be the case because Macs are inherently safe, but I also thought you might be curious or might have encountered this problem before.....

Thanks for your offer.

My problem was solved via update of X5 following Apple's recent update to IPhone and ITunes.

Works perfectly now and I have no malware!
