I can't seem to figure out what is going on here...

I'm using Vista SP2, and all browsers (Explorer, Firefox, Chrome) seem to hang up on "Waiting for reply" when trying to view websites. I can search on Google, but can't click any of the search results. I can also send/receive data using MSN Messenger, Skype, etc.

I've reset the TCP/IP stack and winsock, but that hasn't helped.

I don't have any noticeable adware issues, but I thought I'd see if maybe someone smarter than myself could identify whether or not I've got any spy/malware on my machine that might be causing the issue.

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me!

Unfortunately, I can't; it was my in-laws computer, and they've left my place. I won't see them for a few weeks.

I did determine that plugging directly into the modem (a Netgear) eliminated any problems and I was able to browse normally. Makes me wonder if it is a hardware (Dell Wireless 1395 or something, can't remember exactly) issue.

A few of the other steps I took included disabling Windows Firewall, removing AVG Free (which was the only anti-virus program installed), and resetting the winsock and TCP/IP v4/v6 stacks, none of which seemed to make any difference. I also booted in safe mode with networking, and experienced the same symptoms (all sites hanging on "Website found. Waiting for reply").

Sorry I can't post the MBAM log. If anyone has any suggestions of what I can look into next time I see my in-laws, I'd appreciate it. For now I told them they would just need to stay plugged in to their modem when they get home (they had the same issues on their home network before visiting).

Thanks.
