Try this.

Now open a new notepad file.
Input this into the notepad file:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKLM\~\services\sharedaccess\parameters\firewallpolicy\standardprofile]
"EnableFirewall"=dword:00000001
Save this as fix.reg, save it to your desktop.
Double click fix.reg to run it.
Select yes to the registry merge prompt.

Hi, It still says each time i turn on the computer that there is no firewall turned on, shall I just ignore this? THanks.

Try turning it on manually.

The free Avira doesn't come with firewall, so this should be fine now.
