Power Cord

I know this is going to sound so dumb but I am having trouble with the power cord part of my charger. I lost it and I don't want to buy a new one because it's too much of a hassle for me. I have an old charger but it's not meant to be used with toshiba laptops and therefore I can't stick it into the AC Adapter. I was wondering if I could just chisel it down so it could stick into it. Here is the one I have. I am talking about the top because it needs a little indent in order to fit into the adapter.

Yes you can use it, as long as the power cord fits. It would be a different story if you were talking about the adapter.
