Hello, my friend has a pc that has major problems with this virus. I am trying to repair it for them and I tryed reloading the os from the computers back up on the hard drive and it didnt work. It has memory locations it cant access and my norton install atempt failed. I was hoping to fix it with out wiping the drive. I seen there are many posts on this subject but not sure if you need to see the specifics of my pc. Can you help me?

It is an hp running win xp sp2 I believe.
