I would greatly appreciate any help available in getting rid of this! I have tried running two programs that are supposed to eliminate this problem, but neither were allowed to run due to the "virus"? Not sure if it is actually a virus or spyware, or what. I get a constantly returning pop-up in the lower right corner of my screen that looks like a bogus Windows Security Alert trying to get me to buy antivirus spyware. Also another telling me, "Your computer is being attacked by an internet virus. It could be a password stealing attack, a trojan-dropper or similar." Then the details are as follows: Attack from: 160.91.56.226, port 58249 Attacked port: 20358 Threat: Win32/Nuqel.E Do you want to block this attack? YES or NO.
Also, every time I try to run anything (but it stays up constantly, keeps returning with an annoying little sound) a fake security warning pops up: Application cannot be executed. The file searchprotocolhost.exe is infected (also names other files infected at different times). Do you want to activate your antivirus software now? Yes or No.
There is another one that pops up in the middle of my screen telling me that vulnerabilities have been found and asking if I want to download their product or stay unprotected.
Also, I am getting porn pop-ups.
I have seen others post about this exact problem and it looks like you were able to help them get rid of it.
I am grateful for any help! Thank you!!
