I have Windows 7 and suddenly it will not wake up.
From performance information and tools I find the following:

HiJackThis was denied access because it was not run as an administrator. Unfortunately, Trend Micro removed the right click option so you'll need to locate the installation folder and right click "HiJackThis.exe" and select properties, compatibility and check the box labelled "Run as administrator".

Looks like you have a lot things starting up with Windows. Recommend removing the following:



You can easily run Google Chrome and click the wrench in the upper right and About which will update for you. If this is the Google Pack you can just look under your start menu and there will a program that can tell you if your up to date(can't remember what it is called). Hp updater can also be run under Start/Hp/HP Update.

These are optional, but you may wish to remove them from startup if you don't want them to start.


Backups can easily be restored by rerunning HiJackThis and clicking Main Menu(if it is disabled on start) and select View the list of backups.

I hear ya. I had the same issue when buying a laptop from Walmart. Turned into a piece of junk a year later.

Thanks for the tips. I quit using Google Chrome because of difficulties I no longer remember. I keep it there in case of emergency. I did check, and it says it's updated.

How do I remove the code lines you listed? They've made computer interfaces so user friendly I can't figure out how to use them. And I'm not a programmer either. Bah.

Clicking each item places a checkmark in the box to the left of the item. Once you've checked those items click "Fix checked" at the bottom of the window. It'll make a backup them remove the entries.
