I recently bought a "Newest 1000mW 1W Wireless G WiFi USB Adapter +Antenna" to enhance my internet reception. I was asked to download a Ralink which I did. Ever since i can only get wireless only when using the antenna device connected to my Dell inspiron 1521 laptop. My laptop cannot connect on its own anymore.

Go to the Device Manager and check the Network devices. See if your internal wireless deice is still listed. Also check to see if it has any yellow or red marks next to it.

You may have to disable one and enable the other. I had two wireless adapters for one of my laptops and one wouldn't work if the other was enabled.
