Blue Screen upon startup

HP Pavilion DV4: I get a blue screen when I press the power button. Originally the system beeped the way it does when it is powering up but after repeated attempts it does not do this anymore. The Internet indicator light located at the top right hand corner of the keyboard goes from orange to blue as it would if being powered up. I cannot power up in safe mode. I have removed the battery and put it back in. Does anyone have any ideas? It worked last night.

I hate it when that happens. Try the easy thing first and perform a reset:

1.Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
2.Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
3.Disconnect any external devices or peripherals connected to the notebook. Press and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds
