HP HDX 16 Laptop Monitoring going black

Hi,

I have an HP HDX 16 Laptop which is about a year and 9 months old. Recently, I turned on my computer, and the monitor screen goes black as if it has turned off. The computer itself turns on, but the monitor only works for a few seconds to about 10 minutes. I am currently using an external monitor connected by a VGA cord. Apparently, when I close the lid and then open the lid to the laptop, the screen will appear. But after a short while, it will go black on me and shut off like it would be on sleep mode, but the computer is still running. As of now, I am using this laptop as a desktop with an external monitor. Can you guys please help me resolve this issue as it is a hardware or software problem, I do not know.

could be the back light inverter going bad or lose connection ?

would you know how to check? im thinking the bulb is just going out since it wont turn on anymore. in that case, would you know how to change it?

Hi, it is hardware problem. It suppose that cable which connect your Laptop hardware with Display are damaged or broken. You can easy repair that, buy a new one, or just visit PC Service and they should help you. I don't think your Display is dead, it's just cable issue.

I have got the same problem! Did you find a solution? And if it was the cable from monitor to board, where did you buy it?
