TV Tuner Card

I have had VisionTek TV Wonder HD 600 PCI installed since 2007 and have successfully used Catalyst Media Center.
In Nov my PC crashed and now it's back on line, but Catalyst Media Center gives me an error message: no TV tuner detected.

I also have Windows Movie Maker installed since the crash (SP2) and it has taken over my tuner card but no audio is heard and WMM won't allow me to adjust the ATI card volume level.

How can I get rid of either (1) Windows Movie Maker, or (2) the hold WMM has on ATI Catalyst and go back to viewing TV thru Catalyst Media Center?

Hi,

I suggest you to uninstall ATI Catalyst. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Select everything with name Catalyst and click Uninstall.

After that, download latest Catalyst from ATI website and install it.

What problem do you have with WMP ? You can download it directly from Microsoft website at THIS link.

I only wondered if I should reinstall Movie Maker because it seems to have taken over my tv tuner card but WMM is not usable because I can't get the audio portion of the tv or captured video. Thanks again for the links.

I think you should install it, if you use that software than take it. Personally, I don't like Movie Maker, I using Adobe Premiere for editing videos and sound.

Hi - did as you suggested except for re-installing Windows Movie Maker as I use Cyberlink Power Director. The Catalyst Media Center now identifies my tv tuner card and provides audio and video for viewing and capture. However, the video screen flickers non-stop. I updated the driver on ATI website and it still flickers. Any other suggestions on that issue? Thanks so very much - the people on this website are awesome!!

I changed the display settings to 1024x768 and that solved the screen flickering. Thanks loads.
