Can't Connect to Internet after Virus Removal

Hi,

I am running Windows XP. I ran Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, and Avira antivirus. Numerous nasties were removed. Since then, I have not been able to connect to the internet at all - not with Outlook Express or Firefox. I also can't turn on the firewall service or run system restore. I have tried everything I can think of - any help would be appreciated.
