Windows7 wont boot up

I left my laptop on at home and I came back only to see that the screen had gone black but was still on, I shut it off manually, turned it on; and now it only works in safe mode. And now I'm stuck at a dead end. Any help would be greatly appericated

Since my cds are all at home (I'm away at college), is there anyway to do an alternative method? So far my computer boots and works fine in Safe mode w/networking, so I can only assume its a driver issue. I've heard of bootloggin, should I try that or is there another alternative?

Thank you for the help, I download the repair disk and I ran it about 3 times, and on that time it said that it couldn't find anything wrong with the start up. I ran it again, and it ended up on the blue screen again. So now that the recovery disk didn't fix it Im not sure what to do. This is what happens when I start it up, the first screen where it says press f2 or f10 at the bottom has some dashed lines running down the screen, than it goes to the normal windows 7 icon with the four colors coming together, and than it goes to the blue screen which goes away very fast it says that "it might be because of newly installed software" (But I've checked everything that installed and can't seem to figure out if thats the problem) and it also says stop error " 00000000x50x0 or something like that. So since the recovery disk didn't help.... what should I do now? and again I don't think its a hardware issue because windows 7 works find in safe mode with networking.

Go to your BIOS settings and reset it to default settings and see if that fixes the problem. Or since you can get into Safe Mode go to C:\Windows\Minidump and copy the files (dmp extension) to desktop and Zip it up, upload to some site maybe Sky drive and post the link here. Then we will know presice answer.

Alright since I could go to the minidump I decided to do the 2nd option. I also added it to sendspace, and .rar'd it which I hope isn't a problem(as I'm sure you have winrar). Again I apperciate any and all help, let me know if there is anything else I need to send you that could help.

Seems like it your GPU card nVidia that is caused the System to crash frequently. Follow this article http://captaindebugger.wordpress.com/nvidia-driver-cleanup-guide/ and cleanup the nVidia Drivers completely and download and fresh driver and insatll it and see if that fixes your problem.

Alright I tried the first method once and I seemed to have a problem with the very first step " 1, Start Menu search box : type change device installation settings" because once I did this there was no option of that for me. Is there another way of disabling that? Because I tried to go through without doing that step: uninstalling nvidia, doing the disk sweep, and than going to nvidia website to get install new drivers upon a restart. However after that restart windows did update/install the nvidia driver, so I'm not sure if when I got the new drivers from the nvidia website if they overwrited the existing ones or not. I'm guessing not though because I tried to start it normally with no success =/

okay I googled how to find another way to change that and followed the steps, and tried to boot normally after everything was done and it still ended up at the blue screen =/

Also another update: As I'm just looking around at other methods to fix it, I decided to do a bootlog, and I saw that "@hal.inf,%acpiapic.devicedesc%;ACPI x86-based PC" was the first driver that didn't load if that helps to try and narrow down another possible problem, I could also post my whole bootlog if that could help.

okay sorry for all the updates but it finally work =] now it boots up into normal mode, but everything looks as though I'm still in safe mode, I'm not sure if something is wrong with graphics card, as I think there might be since I tried to play an online game and it said that I needed to be able to support shading 2 or something like that. Any tips? or should I move this into another forum?

I'm afraid it might be a bad card. Since the drivers are not recognizing and it's not booting properly with full drivers applied. See if you can borrow a GPU card from a friend to test it make sure it's a card. If it's a Laptop the i guess it's best to take it to a PC repair store and have them open it for you and test the card. As best of my knowledge its a Hardware issue.
