Hey there. First time user here but have read a few of the post. You guys got it together. Here's my problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite, model# 1805-s204 with xp home I think. It was found in a dumpster and given to me. Turned it on and safeboot security 4.2 log comes up. Turns out this lap top was used by a mortgage company and when they upgraded they tossed the old ones. I called their IT to verify that it wasn't, which it wasn't stolen and was told it had been wiped clean of all files. They could not though assist me in getting past the log in for safe boot. I don't know why but it was all right for me to use or do what ever with this lap top. I know safe boot is an encryption software with all this random numbers stuff for encryption but it does not allow anything to happen with out the log in stuff. How do I get around or even eliminate safe boot. I am not interested in any files on the hard drive other than maybe the operating system, which according to the tag on the lap top says it is windows xp home. I just want to make this a functioning lap top for me with out dumping a lot of money into it as it seems to work fine but will not know until I get past the safe boot. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I also have another question about my gateway lap top but I think I should try that one in a separate post. Thanks
