Hey all!
My problem started when my computer would not connect to the internet but kept saying “acquiring network access” and I had an IP address of 0.0.0.0 . After learning how to check the DHCP, it said that one of its components wouldn’t start. Here comes my question… After looking in the Device Manager there is an exclamation point by the AFD driver. When I open the AFD Properties, the “Device status” states “This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)”. When I look at the Windows troubleshooter, it tells me to uninstall the AFD and reinstall it; however I have seen online where uninstalling AFD will crash their computer. What should I do to restore the AFD and thus my internet connection? Is it safe to uninstall and reinstall it? What IS the AFD (I am a novice when it comes to repairing my computer)? Thanks a BUNCH!!!
