My HP DV7 was having a horrible issue with overheating. It was recommended of me to open the computer up and clean it using compressed air. When I opened it the panel's soldering broke off. Now HP wants to replace the whole motherboard at a cost of 320 dollars rather than simply re-solder the connections. I am still under warranty, but of course since I was attempting to correct their issue I now have to front the bill. Anyway to fix this issue without having to replace the motherboard? Or should I just start computer shopping again.

Have a local tech shop solder it for you, it should only run you $40 cheaper then a new motherboard\system! Better yet you can buy a new case and just put everything in the new case!
