Thanks a million it worked like a charm!! I was 2 seconds away buying their bogus antivirus software before you guys bailed me out!! Couldn't be happier, and malware free!

Thank You!

There isn't enough words to describe my thanks for this removal guide, but thank you so much anyways. Hooray!

This worked wonders!!! I thought the worst about my laptop; was certain it was a goner. I had just received my novel from my editor and was implementing changes to my second draft when I was struck with this virus. I tried everything I knew- which wasn't much- and only ten minutes with your malware solution, and the problem was solved. I literally screamed and jumped with happiness. You'd have thought I just won the Super Bowl. THANKS!!!

I followed the methods you gave . Starting in safe mode and changing the proxy settings . Removing my old version of Malware Bytes and installing a newer version , since I was unable to update the old. Ran A scan and found nothing . So I restarted computer in the normal manner ran a scan and finally removed the malware (6 items) . I was so pleased I decided to get the paid edition of Malware Bytes. However , I can't complete the download because my proxy settings are now incorrect. How do I get them back to normal? Keep in mind that I have been trying to change them myself and have them all fouled up.

I have changed tools/internet options/connections to remove the checkmark for "use a proxy e internet server....." I still cannot connect to the internet getting the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. The critical issue is this malware has hijacked my security center. For virus protection it has listed me as out of date(not true).By doing this it has shutdown I.E. ANY IDEAS - PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE

These instructions WORK! Follow them exactly and Antispyware Soft will be deleted without an problems.
I was running Norton Internet Security 2010 and it didn't detect this, I scanned also with Webroot Spy Sweeper - didn't detect this.

I have trusted Norton products for years, they have saved me from other viruses several times, but not this malware! I will be contacting Norton to see what the problem is!

descriptionRemove Antispyware Soft [Removal Guide] - Page 2 EmptySafe Mode is the Key

In all my years of computing, and they go back to the big iron,
thru the kits, DRDOS, and now WIN 7, I have never, repeat
never, had a virus until yesterday morning on my ZT desktop.
Incidently, XP pro is on the ZT. I have Win 7 on my laptop.
ANTISPYWARE SOFT has gotten extremely sophisticated. It
It now prevents SAFE MODE (F8), REGEDIT is disabled, and
the kicker--I was able to bring up taskmgr on startup by
swifly giving CTL ALT DEL. But the offending programs,
named LASS, SRSS, SMSS were incapable of deletion,
changing their priority etc. I called ZT who said my only
relief is to do a recovery which scrubs the hard drive. I have
removed the HD and will see if it is accessible on another
computer in hopes of trying to recover something. I toyed
with the idea of paying their ransom in the hope that the
feds might pursue. But ZT said they use an intermediary
and are from a foreign country. You have to give these
criminals credit for their ability to completely confiscate
the machine and the display of the filthiest PORNO out
there. I printed out the 10 pages of Dr. Inferno removal
which is predicated on SAFE MODE. Why wouldn't a
simple boot disk (CD) with MALWAREBYTES work? Does
such a CD exist? I just joined yesterday, so if I have
broken any rules in posting, sp errors, or offended
whatever, I apologize.

You guys are great! Thank you so much! Had this exact problem, and followed your directions, and it worked! Thank you thank you thank you! I will definitely come here first for any problems in the future (hopefully none, knock on wood) and send my friends/family here first if they have any problems. And I think I will pay for the full malwarebytes. I am so glad this problem that first seem enormous was fixed easily with your help!

I tried this method, but this is what happened to me on Vista Home edition.

1.Got on safe mode with networking.
2.Download Malawarebytes
3.Got all updates and started it.
4. Closed all other applications
5. Scanned with it
6. Then the screen blacks out and the computer is still on.
7. This keeps happening to me, except that now the screen blacks out if you just start Malawarebytes.

What do I do???

Amazing. This software solved my Antispyware Soft problem less than an hour after it started. The virus was blocking the use of almost all the programs on my computer --- except for internet browsers --- so I had to download and install Malwarebytes in normal mode and then switch to Safe Mode to run the scan. Can't tell you how grateful I am for this software.

Dude...I love you forever.

This thing was a nasty horrible beast. Everytime I would try and do something other than go to the website, the window would last 1 second than close out. I tried many cheesy methods to try and get rid of it but it wouldn't let me. I couldn't tell my dad because this will have been my second laptop that I have destroyed. I was thinking about taking my laptop to school without telling my dad and having the computer teachers them fix it. Then, I just thought about completely locking my computer and restarting everything.

Luckly, before the horrible beast installed itself, I had created a guest user. So I went to chrome, found this site and took notes. It worked perfectly and I can't thank you enough. I've already got the Malware thing install on my computer so I'm good with that.

Wow, I just went through 2 days of Hell thanks to the motherless people behind Antispyware Soft. Since they receive credit card payments on line can't these people be found and prosecuted?

Anyway, thank you GeekPolice.net. Your removal guide was so simple, yet so effective. Looks like my computer is better than ever now thanks to you. I tried to offer a contribution for your help, however, you are experiencing difficulties with PayPal at the moment. I requested notification when you're up and running. I plan on contibuting $10.00.

I know that this is not much, but I would urge everyone who replied with thank yous for your help to contribute something. If everyone who has used your help successfully contributed anything, even one dollar, five dollars, or like me, ten dollars, it will ensure our access to quality help like yours for free.

Just so everyone out there knows, prior to finding your help via a Google search, I contacted Norton (Symantecs) three times. They had me first do a comprehensive scan, took hours, then called them back. They then had me do a full scan which took just as long, with the same results, and call them back. Norton said my computer was fine with no infrections, however, Antispyware Soft had complete control of my computer. Norton told me to go to another computer and download their removal file. I went to it and it seemed like a manual, as opposed to a file. I read it all yet had no idea what they wanted me to download to a disk and bring to the infected computer. By the way Norton said if I wanted them to help remove the virus I would have to pay them $99.00. I asked even though Norton Security Suite allowed this Trojan to enter my computer, and could not even locate it once it was already infected, you want $99.00 to fix what I paid you to keep out of my computer, and what your system can't even locate after hours of scanning. Norton's reply was YES.

So I hope everyone out there can see how a small voluntary donation to people like the Geek Police is well worth it. Thank goodness there are Geeks out there with the Force, who are battling those Geeks out there who have gone to the Dark Side. Mere mortals like us need them on our side and need to let them know how much we appreciate them.
