This guide will give you easy instructions on how to uninstall or get rid Antispyware Soft for free.

It will then suggest that you purchase a copy of it to rid of the infections. The hoax is the fact that it's bogus antispyware database is totally incapable of performing any of the declared functions.

  • Go to the Network tab and select Settings.
  • Select No proxy and click the OK button and click OK again. Now that you have disabled the proxy server you will be able to browse the web again with Firefox.

if you've got a second machine on your network, download PStools and run pslist \\remote_hostname -t, find the process that's running it (For me the process names I had to kill was vc5 and it's sub processes and i had to kill the random named application as well). Then you should run pskill \\remote_hostname -t process_id_of_application. From there I was able to run HijackThis and Malwarebytes.

You guys are awesome, thanks.

I wound up doing a windows recovery on my laptop to do a reformat of the C Drive and the problem is gone as I used the recovery to reinstall windows as the safeguard feature in this laptop. I'll have to get a new external cd burner to install my programs on it and I have this laptop Im on to continue my computer work.

Thank You! A year ago, I lost my computer to a virus very much like this. Sad tearing I couldn't do anything, as it got rid of my internet and I had no way of finding out what to do until it was way late.
I bought a new computer, set it up with avira anti-virus, and did a little research. Let me think
Now, I had a problem very much like it. The instant I saw the virus pop up, I shut down my computer and restarted, hoping it didn't have time to download. I was scared, and it had gotten into my computer. I looked up the virus on another computer, and found this. I tried it, and it solved my problem like a miracle. I owe my computer to this. I really can't thank it enough. Thank You!

I just got this exact problem, and I have no clue how to get rid of it, as I am NOT a tech savvy person. I am at a college with thousands of computers on the same network. will this method work for me?

I wanted to say thank you for your guide. I had this exact virus show up on my laptop and the first thing I knew of it was a virus because my real antivirus software was showing that there was something foreign on the computer. I tried to do a system restore, get rid of it through the antivirus scan, but nothing was working. I was even going to call the company and yell at them for their product, only I could not find a number for them. Near tears I decided to load up my desktop and look for help. After several other guides, I found yours and found that it was the best guide I saw. I followed the guide exactly and am glad I got rid of it and can us my laptop. Thank you for the guide! IT was the best by far!!!

Hi,
After running Malware Bytes it seems to have sorted the issue. However when I go back into the Proxy Server section and recheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN I cannot get any web pages to open. Am I destined to surf the web from now on without using a proxy server for my LAN?
Any ideas?
Thank you

Is this a virus that is going around the web atm? I only removed it yesterday using this but today while i was browsing the web, a pop-up box came up wanting me to allow administrative access to open Command prompt. I was puzzled as I hadn't tried to open cmd.exe at any point and about a second later the same pop-ups for 'Antispyware soft' started up again.
At this point I went through the steps again and it has since been removed... Hmm hope it's gone for good

My girlfriend's daughter's laptop got infected with that fake antivirus program.

It was deep, because she had okayed it to scan into her files, which is how it gets its hooks in.
A few years ago, I got it in my computer, but I didn't use the fake scan, so I could just restore it to an earlier point.

But with her's, it would block everything that we did that would take it out. Could only go online, if it was to buy their product, could not restore, could not go into internet options or anything related.

So we did this and it worked. There were 1679 infections in the comp.

It was partly, she had visited this site called Gaia.com, which, according to my girlfriend, has ruined two of her other older daughter's computers before.

But her daughters didn't know. That site and maybe some other sites are in league with the antispyware soft program. They even link porn sites to pop up, and she is 13 years old.

I created a restore point after doing the malware clean and after removing any temporary files, links and favorites for these sites.
We will probably get the full version.

My account won't let me do anything, and mine just happens to be the administrative acct. please help quickly!

I followed the methods you gave . Starting in safe mode and changing the proxy settings . Removing my old version of Malware Bytes and installing a newer version , since I was unable to update the old. Ran A scan and found nothing . So I restarted computer in the normal manner ran a scan and finally removed the malware (6 items) . I was so pleased I decided to get the paid edition of Malware Bytes. However , I can't complete the download because my proxy settings are now incorrect. How do I get them back to normal? Keep in mind that I have been trying to change them myself and have them all fouled up.

In all my years of computing, and they go back to the big iron,
thru the kits, DRDOS, and now WIN 7, I have never, repeat
never, had a virus until yesterday morning on my ZT desktop.
Incidently, XP pro is on the ZT. I have Win 7 on my laptop.
ANTISPYWARE SOFT has gotten extremely sophisticated. It
It now prevents SAFE MODE (F8), REGEDIT is disabled, and
the kicker--I was able to bring up taskmgr on startup by
swifly giving CTL ALT DEL. But the offending programs,
named LASS, SRSS, SMSS were incapable of deletion,
changing their priority etc. I called ZT who said my only
relief is to do a recovery which scrubs the hard drive. I have
removed the HD and will see if it is accessible on another
computer in hopes of trying to recover something. I toyed
with the idea of paying their ransom in the hope that the
feds might pursue. But ZT said they use an intermediary
and are from a foreign country. You have to give these
criminals credit for their ability to completely confiscate
the machine and the display of the filthiest PORNO out
there. I printed out the 10 pages of Dr. Inferno removal
which is predicated on SAFE MODE. Why wouldn't a
simple boot disk (CD) with MALWAREBYTES work? Does
such a CD exist? I just joined yesterday, so if I have
broken any rules in posting, sp errors, or offended
whatever, I apologize.
