The CD/DVD ROM says it has files on it (there is no disc in the drive). When I place a cd in it the drive does nothing. For some reason the drive is named 'Recovery (D:)'
It has the following folders listed on the drive:
$recycle.bin
programdata
sources
systemvolumeinformation
windows

when we try to delete those folders and files it says we can't because the user isn't administrator. Which isn't true.

Is the drive corrupted? Is there anyway to fix it?
thanks for your help!

Hello,

I don't think that is the CD/DVD ROM. It is the recovery partition. You are not suppose to delete those files.
