Computer locks up in normal mode - cannot run malwarebytes, etc

My computer has become infected and I cannot run Malwarebytes or other software programs in normal mode. I can run it in safe mode. I think my registry files are messed up. I can access the internet in safe mode, but not normal mode, etc. Had a technician come out and he said it was a hardware issue and recommended that I replace computer.

Any help greatly appreciated. Cannot afford new computer.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.
