I hope someone out there can help me. I recently had a severe virus problem and ended up having to reload my old version of Windows XP. After that I installed Service Pack 1a and then 2. After this I went to the Microsoft website and ran a service to identify any additional upgrades I needed. Many were identified and I loaded them. Now when I boot up, after the Windows XP logo appears, the screen goes black with the following message:

"1: Auto Detect (Analog Input), Cannot Display This Video Mode, Optimum Resolution 1680 x 1050 60 Hz".

This message displays for about 30 seconds and then the monitor goes into power save mode. I can start up in safe mode but I still don't know what to do to resolve this issue. Can anyone help?
