I need help so badly! When I start my computer my desktop image loads but nȯne of my icons appear and my taskbar is missing. I can only open internet explorer or one of my programs by clicking CTRL+ALT+DELETE then new task then browse then finding it on my computer and opening. I can't seem to fix it and I don't know what the problem is. I think I had something called AntiVirus Pro 2010 pop up right before I started having these problems but I can't get it off! I saw another posting on geekpolice.net that linked to a malware removal program and I tried to download it but it didn't work...I got an error that said runtime error '0' but even if it is in my start menu or an icon on my desktop I can't see either one to try to fix it. Please help....

Ok...I ran the hijack this and checked all the items you listed and clicked fix items. That seems to have worked. I still do not have icons or my task bar, I also am being told that I do not have sufficient permission to access safe mode or run any .exe.

I tried to run the Anti-Malware but I am getting two errors - the first says "Run-time error '0'" and the other says "Run-time error '440' Automation error"

Hello.

  • Download combofix from here
    Link 1
    Link 2

    1. If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:

    * Tools->Options->Main tab
    * Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

    2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

    On start-up - no icons, no task bar, AntiVirus Pro 2010? CF_download_FF

    On start-up - no icons, no task bar, AntiVirus Pro 2010? CF_download_rename

    3. It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
    4. Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
    5. Close any open browsers.
    6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

  • We need to disable your local AV (Anti-virus) before running Combofix.
  • See HERE for how to disable your AV.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  • Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
    ***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

    **Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will automatically proceed with its scan.

  • The Recovery Console provides a recovery/repair mode should a problem occur during a Combofix run.

    On start-up - no icons, no task bar, AntiVirus Pro 2010? Rcauto10

  • Allow ComboFix to download the Recovery Console.
  • Accept the End-User License Agreement.
  • The Recovery Console will be installed.
  • You will then get this next prompt that asks if you want to continue the malware scan, select yes

    On start-up - no icons, no task bar, AntiVirus Pro 2010? Whatne10

  • Allow combofix to run
  • Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

    Note:
    Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Hello.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

For now, leave SDFix, DO NOT run it.

  1. Close any open browsers.
  2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

    File::
    c:\windows\system32\dubu.com
    C:\program files\Common Files\hawok.lib
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\acakynupi.dat

Hello.

  • Now open a new notepad file.
  • Input this into the notepad file:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\securityproviders]
    "SecurityProviders"="msapsspc.dll, schannel.dll, digest.dll, msnsspc.dll"

  • Save this as fix.reg, save it to your desktop.
  • Double click fix.reg to run it.
  • Select yes to the registry merge prompt.

Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /u

Belahzur...I can't install my VCOM security. I have it on a disc and when I put the disc in I get the command prompt and it reads "A:\< " and I don't know what to put in there. If I take the disc out and re-load the computer I have the VCOM icon but if I click on it the computer says "windows can not access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." How can I re-install my VCOM?

Hello.
Sorry for the delay, I've been ill lately.

Please download this file.

  • Please download Junction.zip and save it.
  • Unzip it and put junction.exe in the Windows directory (C:\Windows).
  • Go to Start => Run... => Copy and paste the following command in the run box and click OK:

    cmd /c junction -s c:\ >log.txt&log.txt& del log.txt

  • A command window opens starting to scan the system. Wait until a log file opens. Copy and paste or attach the content of it.

Hello.

Please download this file.

Like you did with juntion.exe, place inherit.exe into windows folder.

Now open a new notepad file.
Input this into the notepad file:

@echo off
"inherit.exe" "c:\Program Files\VCOM\Fix-It\Fix-It.exe"
"inherit.exe" "c:\Program Files\VCOM\Fix-It\mxtask.exe"
exit

Save this as fix.bat, save it to your desktop.

Let it run until it says OK on each one.

Your V-COM programs should work now.
