Before anyone starts reading this, yes, I already have tried the steps mentioned in this thread here.

As a lot of people have, somehow I have a=contracted the Antivirus System PRO malware that requires me to buy it "or else". I'm pretty decent with the computer, and probably the best with computers out of anyone I know, and I have tried guides for removing this, but I can't do anything.

1) I already have MalwareByte's Anti-Malware, and I can't run it on the infected computer.
2) I uninstalled it and tried installing and running it from there again, but when I run the shortcut or .exe file directly, nothing happens
3) I cannot connect to the internet...this is what it shows when I try to on the infected computer.
AntiVirus System Pro Problem Fp5mkn
4) While I am at it, when I run the computer on Safe Mode (and with Networking) the malware doesn't come. That is when I try to install/run the malware cleaning programs.
5) I have also tried SpyHunter-Scanner-Install.exe and sdsetup.exe and Spybot Search and Destroy but, once again, nothing comes up when I double click on the installation file or the .exe
6) I don't know if this is of any importance, but whenever I start up the computer, 2 internet Explorer .exe's are running, but no IE windows pop up. I end their process through the Ctrl-Alt-Delete processes tab, but they come back.

I also took the Trend Micro HijackThis log file. I uploaded it on MEDIAFIRE for a download, it is about 23 KB I think. I also pasted it below.

Thanks in advance for the help
-Erik

Hello.

Your system is severly infected. Problem with these infections nowadays is, it causes a lot of damage. Even if we clean the malware off your system, I can't guarantee that your system will be clean afterwards, because these infections/bundles leave a lot of leftovers behind that most scanners won't even recognise and logs won't show.
Also, I can't promise you we can repair all the damage it caused... Even after cleaning the malware, you can still get errors afterwards because of the damage. Solving these is not always possible since it will be searching for a needle in a haystack to find the right cause and solution.
So, we can try to clean this up and do what we can, but keep in mind that we can't solve ALL problems this malware already caused.

In light of this it would be wise for you to back up any files and folders that you don't want to lose before we start. Reason I am telling this is because when a system is so terribly infected and we try to clean this up manually, the damage that is already present may interfere with our removal attempts.

Ok the HijackThis was a success...I double checked I deleted all of them and/or if they came back and nothing bad happened.

However, when I try to go on firefox, it still gives the same screen shown in the Opening Post. I have the setup saved on an external hard drive and I have it conneccted to the computer, but it doesn't do anything when i double click the setup. I check the Task manager processes and everytime, it reaches only a certain amount of K (in the memory column) before it stops getting bigger; I think it reached 2,692 K before it stopped.

I am running the computer on Safe Mode with Networking right now. Should I run it normally? When I tried uninstalling MalwareBytes before, there is one thing it can't uninstall and that is mbamext.dll. (FYI, I am just uninstalling and installing again just for precaution).

Please tell me if there is anything I can do.Let me think

- Erik

EDIT: I can access the internet now through Firefox, I had to configure some of its settings. Now, the question is, do I run Windows on Normal mode or stay on Safe Mode;so far on SM I can't open the setup and it won't go past 2,692 K.

Hello.

Remove the Proxy setting in Internet Explorer and/or in FireFox.

    In Internet Explorer
  1. Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously.

    In Firefox
  1. Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection > Choose "No Proxy"
  2. Click the apply button and restart that computer in normal mode.

Next,

  • Download combofix from here
    Link 1
    Link 2

    1. If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:

    * Tools->Options->Main tab
    * Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

    2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

    AntiVirus System Pro Problem CF_download_FF

    AntiVirus System Pro Problem CF_download_rename

    3. It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.
    4. Please do not rename Combofix to other names, but only to the one indicated.
    5. Close any open browsers.
    6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

  • We need to disable your local AV (Anti-virus) before running Combofix.
  • See HERE for how to disable your AV. (BitDefender)
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  • Follow the prompts. NOTE:
  • ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed.
***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will automatically proceed with its scan.

  • The Recovery Console provides a recovery/repair mode should a problem occur during a Combofix run.

    AntiVirus System Pro Problem Rcauto10

  • Allow ComboFix to download the Recovery Console.
  • Accept the End-User License Agreement.
  • The Recovery Console will be installed.
  • You will then get this next prompt that asks if you want to continue the malware scan, select yes

    AntiVirus System Pro Problem Whatne10

  • Allow combofix to run
  • Post C:\combofix.txt back here.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
