I have Win32/cryptor virus. I did a hijack this and here is my log file.

What do i do?????

Hello.

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

Please make sure Teatimer is disable before we do this, otherwise this fix will fail.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop
Link: HERE or HERE.

• Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  
• Extract avenger.exe to your desktop
  

Note: This tool was posted specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

2. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

• Leave the script box empty.
  
• Leave the ticked box "Scan for rootkit" ticked.
  
• Then tick "Disable any rootkits found"
  
• Now click on the Execute to begin execution of the script.
  
• Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
  
  The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  
  
• It will Restart your computer.
  
• On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  
• After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  
• The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
  

3. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.

I can not open spybot i do not know why

Probably the rootkit.

Skip Spybot/Hijack This fix and run the avenger.

none of this is really working. If i just buy a good virus scan would that be able to get rid of this virus?

Doubt it, this Win32\Cryptor spawns a rootkit and not many tools can kill it.

• Double click on ComboFix.exe.
  
• Follow the prompts. NOTE:

  ***It's strongly recommended to have the Recovery Console installed before doing any malware removal.***

i cant dl it. It wont let me.

Does the avenger refuse to open? at all?

combofix will not open. No Screen comes up once i dl it

The rootkit blocking it.

Right click Combofix.exe, select Rename. Rename to Combo-Fix.exe.

See if it will run now.

Unzip it and start the GMER.exe
Click the Rootkit tab and click the Scan button.
Once done, click the Copy button.
This will copy the results to your clipboard.
Paste the results in your next reply.

Warning ! Please, do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan.

If you're having problems with running GMER.exe, try it in safe mode.
This tools works in safe mode. Other rootkitrevealers don't.

IDK what is going on it doesnt do anything after i click run it just stops

I wonder why these tools won't run, the cryptor virus doesn't block the avenger, or Combofix when renamed, GMER neither.

I want to try uninstalling Spybot temporarily.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs.

• Adobe Reader 7.0.9
  
• J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
  
• Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6
  
• Smilebox
  
• Spybot - Search & Destroy
  
• Viewpoint Media Player
  

Once uninstalled, try my Hijack This fix back on page 1.

The Hijack is not working. It is doing what the others did i click to run and nothing happenes

Okay, rename it.

Locate this file.

Right click, select Rename.
Rename it to anything you want to, doesn't matter what.

Try running it once renamed.

Did you uninstall Spybot?

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

• Restart your computer
  
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  
• Select the second option, to run Windows in Safe Mode with Networking, then press Enter.
  
• Choose your usual account.
  

Then in Safe Mode.

• Open HijackThis
  
• Choose "Do a system scan only"

• Close Hijack This.
  

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

It can take quite awhile if there is a lot of files on your machine.
GMER goes in for a VERY deep scan, checkings lots of places malware is known to hide.

Even goes as far the checking the Master Boot Record (MBR).

so will this be able to get rid of the cryptor or is there more stuff after this?

We haven't been able to get logs, so I can't say for sure what's on your machine right now. If it's cryptor, I can kill it. Cryptor doesn't block the avenger, so not sure why it won't run.

If this works, everything will seem normal again, programs will work. I assure you this will not kill the rootkit straight away, only disable it.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop

• Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  
• Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

• Leave the script box empty.
  
• Leave the ticked box "Scan for rootkit" ticked.
  
• Then tick "Disable any rootkits found"
  
• Now click on the Execute to begin execution of the script.
  
• Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
  
  The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  
  
• It will Restart your computer.
  
• On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  
• After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  
• The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
  

3. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.
