Vista freezez on startup

I have an HP vista laptop. I was playing Teamfortress 2 and my computer froze and started flashing red and blue. I restarted my comp and started playing again and the same thing happened also flashing diffrent colours now. Now when i restart my comp and log in it automaticaly freezes and flashes red. Although safe mode works im not quite sure what to do.

Although i tried many things and even conpletely reformating my hard drive the problem still occours. I am able to log into my computer and access many things it will flash colours and freeze after say 30 min of use when i try to launch a program. It will also imediatly freeze when I try to launch any of my games such as cs , or Tf2. do i need to replace an parts?

I suspect this problem has to do with malware.
