Encrypting your data always sounds like a good idea, but in practice it's often a hassle. Paragon Encrypted Disk simplifies the process by creating encrypted containers that look to the user like normal drives. You enter your password once when logging on. Thereafter, you can copy, move, and save files as you would to any drive. The program stores encrypted data in a single container file that fits easily on a flash drive or a rewritable disk. You can create multiple encrypted drives, and managing them is easy with the program's straightforward interface. In our tests, it took three minutes to copy a 1GB file to an encrypted drive, and I didn't notice any slowdowns while working normally on our PC. Our only quibble is the utility lacks a password generator, but this is a good choice for users who want to safeguard their data but hate the hassle encryption usually involves.
