Windows 7 DOESN'T recognize usb

Windows 7 DOESN'T recognize usb or atleast for me after 3 or 4 fresh clean installs and I've updated everything each time. I just can't figure why its doing this but for the fact that at times it does recognize usb's but doesn't show the folders or anything in the usb.

I have looked in the device manager and it shows that a MASS STORAGE CONTROLLER doesn't have the drivers and also serval USB MASS STORAGE DEVICES doesn't have any drivers.


I have a Toshiba A135-S4527 laptop that came pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium and I did away with Vista for the fact that it was just too slow even with all the 'eye candy' gadgets off.

I don't use 7, but I want to, so I want to know this answer too.
I expect Doctor/Digital will drop by to answer since they have experienced 7.

Correctly giving... I don't know... for the fact that my usb's are fat32 or fat then it would have to be either it only recognizes NTFS.

Seems like every time after I restart my laptop it recognizes any USB key. If and when I restart then plug it in upon restart.

Any OEM computers that has a certain operating system pre-installed is originally designed to use that operating system for smooth operation.

This is because the drivers are designed with Vista in mind. When you switch operating systems, the chipset and BIOS are incompatible (especially for OEM PCs) and wont recognize all of the harware or software drivers on the computer.

Which is why I always assemble my own computers, instead of buying them off the selves. All my hardware and devices works a charm on Windows 7.

well thank you but this is no help for me... I installed XP on it no prob... windows 7 all i need really is that one driver and I'll be set...and my desktop... HP m7334n... runs windows 7 like a cake....3gb ram and 2.0 ghz amd processor <Desktop

I tried looking around for your driver... unfortunately no luck. Toshiba doesn't even seem to have a drivers download page! :oops:

Sorry, for if it seemed like I wrote the last post in a 'mad' or 'mean' way... its just that I'm having a bad day...trojans left and right for some odd reason but they are toking care of now.

Well thanks any how I'ma take a look on my restore CD to see if I can find that driver...
