Hi!
Well my son-in-law got the above virus. I am pretty well versed in fixing virus. This one has really been difficult. I think I got rid of the offending program which was Kjzna1562565.exe in the google folder as well as spcffwl.dll and a folder called T-scan in Safe-Mode and found it in all kinds of places in the registry. This got rid of the Zlob message, etc. But when i was trying to find out what to do I noticed I could not download anything. So using my thumb drive I download Spyhunter and Intelinet, which didn't find anything. He had Windows Defender which reported the install of the program, but it did not stop it from loading and he had Windows firewall installed. Then I had Norton Antivirus 2009 I loaded this but could never get the LiveUpdate to download everything. Again I downloaded their current virus definitions and ran full scan it didn't find anything. I don't know what to look for next, so I am attaching the current Hijack reports with the uninstall and startup reports. My problem is I can surf the internet, but download takes forever or errors out, last night at Windows update it could load the current Windows defender definition update or a Framework update. It should of only taken 15 min at most, but after 5 hours it was obviously stuck. So if you can tell me what to do next I would really appreciate it, since he needs his computer back like now--I been working on this for a week--with IE problems since. Let me know what I should do next. I am sending you the current hijack reports.
Thank you so much it looks like you guys know what to do with this problem.
Yvonne

Hi!
Well I discovered it did an update from Windows Update, Norton Antivirus and Windows Defender.
So I guess I am ok now, what steps did I miss with regards to the issue of "unable to download and slow response"?
Do I need to do the Java stuff and do I need to clean up anything? It seems strange that this virus has several different named executables and dll's, I can see that all kinds of people are getting infected. Does anybody report this to Symantec and Windows? I say bring back the firing squad for this gurs who develop such bad virus and malware, etc.
I would really like to tell you how HAPPY and Satisfied I am with your support. In my past life I was a Corportate User andSupport Director for major companies and really appreciate your support, wish more companies could solve problems quickly. Norton support had no idea how to solve and even wanted me to pay them to resolve the issue. Once more you guys rock and Happy Holidays and I will definetly use your service in future (if I ever have a other problem--ha ha).
yvonne schaffer Thank You! Hooray!

Hello.
Yes, we need to update Java.

Your version of Java is outdated and needs to be updated to take advantage of fixes that have eliminated security vulnerabilities.
Updating Java:

  • Download the latest version of Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11.
  • Select the first option where it says "Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 11".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • In the Window that opens, select your platform and language, check the "agree" box, and click Continue.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add or Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
    - Examples of older versions in Add or Remove Programs:
    - Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    - J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u11-windows-i586-p.exe that you downloaded to install the newest version.
Please make sure the new version of Java is installed before you run JavaRa.

Please download JavaRa from here

  • First, unzip it.
  • Then run JavaRa.
  • Select English from the drop down menu and press Select.
  • This will open JavaRa.
  • Press Remove older versions
  • Press yes to the prompt.
  • It will make a log file of what it's removed.
  • Copy and paste the log back here.

Hi!

oops, my son-in-law took his computer back, I enabled real-time protection for Windows Defender and Norton Antivirus, and reset restore point. But didn't do the java. Should I do this java thing? I can go to his place and do this or will Java do its own update? Can't thank you enough for your help.

Hello.
Yes, you need to update Java, old versions leave holes for malware to exploit, and you'll be right back here.

Hi!
Well downloaded the update and RA. I will take a trip up to his house and do as you instructed and post results as soon as I can. Is there anything else I will need to do to his system?
:hmm: Just curious about what caused the internet download problems? Really like to know where in registry the problem was.
Again thanks for your help.

Actually, it was no where in the registry.
Just an autorun.inf file was deleted by CF, which means the malware was launched anytime the D drive was opened.
