Avast/router firewall question

Hi,

now my pc is running sweet again after installing a new hdd I am trying to make my pc as secure as possible.
I have these prog's installed adaware, spyware blaster, spyware guard, super anti spyware and Avast! but I want to know if I should close my routers firewall?
would the routers fw and avast conflict?

I have automatic updates selected and windows fw is activated.

Ha! You have a good number of antispywares there lol.

A router firewall is also known as a hardware firewall, so it would have no conflict from what I know. So you can keep your hardware and software firewalls turned on.

One software firewall is enough so you will have to choose between Avast Firewall and Windows Firewall.

which one is better ?

I would go for Avast Firewall.
