How to Remove Windows Defender Security Center Icon From System Tray
With Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft introduced a new app called Windows Defender Security Center.
The Windows Defender Security Center is the place where you can view the status of virus and threat protection, device health and performance, firewall and network protection, and app & browser control.
The biggest problem is that the Windows Defender Security Center app continues to appear in the system tray even while using a third-party antivirus software.
Luckily, removing Windows Defender Security Center icon from system tray is fairly easy and can be done without editing Registry or using any additional software.
1. Launch Task Manager by right-clicking on an empty spot on the taskbar and then click Task Manager.
2. If you see the Task Manager with limited details, click More details button to open the full version of Task Manager.
3. Click the Startup tab.
4. Here, look for Windows Defender notification icon entry. Right-click on it and then click Disable.
5. Finally, either reboot your PC once, or sign out and sign in again to get rid of the Windows Defender Security Center icon from system tray.
