Hard Drive runs all the time

I hear it spinning up and down constantly, even when logged off.

I have scanned the system with both Kasparsky and Malwarebytes. I noticed it after using Registry Mechanic, but not sure that's related at all.

I don't KNOW of anything that is search indexing, but that's a possiblity. (How do I tell?)

OK, went in and reset all drives, all folders to NOT index. Rebooted and still no change.

maybe you should run some tests, you may want to try this one: http://www.hdtune.com/download.html or check your HDD's health with this one:
http://hddlife.com/eng/downloads.html you can try the trial version if you don't want to buy the program or look for the free version, which is listed beneath teh SSD section.
