My old Dell Demention XPS has ATI 9800 graphics card. Every time I exit from certain programs, the ASCII characters don't all show up properly; particularly the first 32 and the box drawing ones.
I've tried selecting various 'code pages' with the mode command; particularly 65001 and 1252. I get an error mesg when I try 1200 or 1201. The problem goes away if I reboot; but I have either Fritz or FEG always running in the background. Furthermore, the 'code page' is the same (437) before and after rebooting. Is there a way to get all the ASCII chars to display without rebooting?
