My answer would usually be the same to everyone asking which antivirus to use: As long as you practice safe surfing, a free, reputable antivirus would do.
If you're looking at the free and paid version (AVG free & AVG Pro for example) of the same product brand, you will usually get more features in the paid version. Such as scheduled scanning and maybe more customization. Protection
might not necessarily be better.
Looking at the features, paid AVs also
seem to provide more protection over the source of infections, such as scripts, emails etc.
For a free AV, I would recommend Avira or Microsoft Security Essentials.
For a paid AV, I would recommend Kaspersky or ESET.
Try them out, look at their features, and see which you prefer.
