This has recently just happened (1-2 weeks). My Computer goes to sleep mode

constantly without any notice and on top of that I can't wake it up! The

only way to wake it up is to either unplug the main power cord or by simply

holding the power button long enough.I have checked the cables and I also

tried replacing them but it still didn't work. I have tried changing the

power supply but it still caused the same problem.I have checked my whole

computer for any defects such as bad drivers but to no avail. I have scanned

my computer with Malwarebyte's anti-malware, NOD32, and Superantispyware. I

have cleaned my registry and temporary files with Ccleaner (Although I use

Tuneup 2010 as well).

Check Your Mouse and Keyboard

NOTE: A wireless mouse and keyboard can cause your computer to wake up for no apparent reason, and to not wake up from sleep mode when you press a key or move the mouse. This may also cause your screen saver to not work to. If the computer is using an optical mouse, changes in light can cause the computer to wake.

STEP 2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check Advanced Power Plan Settings

NOTE: Power settings control the computer’s ability to go into and come out of sleep/standby mode.
1. Open the Control Panel. (Classic View)
2. Click on the Power Options icon.
3. Click on the Change plan settings link under your power plan.
4. Click on Change advanced power settings.
5. Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
NOTE: This will allow any Power Options that are grayed out to now work and not be grayed out.

I remember that XP has major issues with this and there should be a patch available! I will have to investiaget further so give me a few days if the above trick does not work!
