Hello GeekPolice forums. I got successful help here sometime last year with a different fake Antivirus program, so I thought I'd come back here for help once again.

This time it's the Antivirus Suite virus, along with the fake alerts about BankerFox, random Viagra ads ( No way! ), porn ads, etc. You probably already know the deal. I always keep Malwarebytes and Spybot on my PC because of the last issue. This virus is preventing me from opening .exe programs, but I can still open Firefox. The weird thing is, I rebooted my PC at first and then I managed to get Malwarebytes up and running RIGHT before the Antivirus Suite thing went into effect. Malwarebytes completed a full scan and found 23 infections, so I removed them all and rebooted. I thought that would solve the problem, but it didn't. It just came right back. So I figured maybe it was something that Spybot had to get rid of that was leftover. The thing is, I can't get Spybot open, even before Antivirus opens up. So I'm kinda in a spot where I don't know what to do. All help is appreciated, I know you guys can help me. Thanks.

Download OTL by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

I tried opening it up, but the same error that comes up for all the other .exe files comes up. It says the application is infected and asks me if I want to run the antivirus program (the fake one). I tried renaming it to ".exe", because it was just "OTL", but that didn't work either.

Please download exeHelper from one of the two links.
Link 1
Link 2

  • Double-click on exeHelper.com or exeHelper.scr to run the fix.
  • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
  • Post the contents of log.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com)
Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Neither of them can run. The same exact thing popped up for both of those that did with the OldTimer program. It's the same error that keeps popping up over and over again on the screen. "Application cannot be executed. The file _______ is infected. Would you like to run your antivirus program now?"

Hope you would have downloaded OTL.exe . If not, download it again from the link posted by Belahzur. Save it in the Desktop. Rename OTL.exe as iexplore.exe

It should open. Once, its executed,

Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted
It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.

Hey, I actually just figured out how to do the System Restore where you go to another state in a point of time, so I went back to when the virus wasn't there and I no longer have the problem at all. Now I'm going to run Spyware and Malwarebytes just for the heck of it. Is this a safe thing to do or will any problems return or still remain?

Dunno, run MBAM and see what that log says.
