I have a dell ispiron 1525 it had vista home on it, It had to be formatted i did so,b4 an operating system could be installed ,I had to install dell media direct 3.5 first, it then instructed me to proceed with inserting my os cd/dvd,after os is installed i was to put media disc back in and follow instructions, so i inserted the os disc( which is xp this time) and it goes through the normal setting up windows blue screen loading all kinds of stuff then the screen pops up with press enter to continue set up , press r to repair, and quit option,so i press enter to continue setup and then i get a screen saying,
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacture-supplied diagnostic or setup program
setup cannot continue. to quit press f3
