How Do I Repair My Dell Mini 12 to Factory Setting

I have a Dell Mini Inspirion 12 that my friend gave me but I can't find any microsoft word document/program so I thought maybe if I restored the settings it would restore the program too. Should I do this? And if so, how?

Ok Iam not too experienced with the minis but try these steps:

1. You can try restoring the system, you will have to press CTRL and F11 at the same time.

if above does not work

1. Make bootable CD which contains Norton Ghost or other disk image software
2. boot your system using bootable CD with Norton Ghost software, u can use Hiren's CD ISO image. if u dont know about hiren just google it.
3. Once you boot up , open Norton Ghost click LOCAL-> PARTITION->FROM IMAGE
4. now "look in" for "[DellRestore]FAT drive" and select this drive (this is recovery partition)
5. now go to "IMG" folder and select FI.GHO file
6. Click Open and there you go... process started

Dell inspiron 1210
Intel atom.

When I control+F11 it just makes a long loud beeping noise and when i let go it restarts as normal.

The website did not help me

And my laptop has no CD-ROM port.

Had to lookup the manual for your model though here is what Dell states

To use PC Restore:
1 Turn on the computer.
During the boot process, a blue bar with www.dell.com appears at the top of the screen.
2 Immediately upon seeing the blue bar, press .
If you do not press in time, let the computer finish starting, and then restart the
computer again.
NOTICE: If you do not want to proceed with PC Restore, click Reboot in the following step.
3 On the next screen that appears, click Restore.
4 On the next screen, click Confirm.
The restore process takes approximately 6–10 minutes to complete.
5 When prompted, click Finish to reboot the computer.
NOTE: Do not manually shut down the computer. Click Finish and let the computer completely reboot.
6 When prompted, click Yes.
The computer restarts. Because the computer is restored to its original operating state, the screens that
appear, such as the End User License Agreement, are the same ones that appeared the first time the
computer was turned on.
7 Click Next.
The System Restore screen appears and the computer restarts.
8 After the computer restarts, click OK.

If this is not working you might have a hardware issue or might have to call Dell!
