Popups

I was just online and had to end a website. The comp. froze and then restarted. Now I have pop ups everywhere? Help!

Please download the current version of HijackThis from HERE

• Double click and run the installer.
  
• It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  
• After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  
• Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

• Choose "Do a system scan only"
  
• Check the boxes in front of these lines:

Please download and run this tool.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

  * Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".
  
  2. During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

  5. Close any open browsers.
  6. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Is that as default browser?

1. Close any open browsers.
   
2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
   
3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
   

   
   FCopy::
   c:\windows\system32\dllcache\beep.sys | c:\windows\System32\drivers\beep.sys
   

   
   
4. Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe
   
   
   
   
5. Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
   
6. When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt
   
7. Please post the contents of the log in your next reply.
   

I am not aware of any anti virus that we use on this comp. When I start the comp. it always has a Norton Anti virus page that comes up but when I x out of it, it says are you sure you want to continue unprotected. I don't think we use any anti virus programs, if there are how do I know and or deactivate them?

We'll get to that issue soon, can you run my CFScript above please.

The only combofix I have is the one that is saved to my desktop. When I drag the CFScript.txt into that file it starts running combofix. I do not have a saved file titled Combofix.exe?

If Combofix isn't present on the Desktop, you can download a new copy.
