Can't open any antivirus software.

My computer will not allow me to open a virus scan program... any virus scan program. I have run Ad-Aware, but all attempts to run any other scanning program have failed. I have tried to run Spy-bot Search and Destroy and when it failed, I uninstalled and reinstalled in the hopes that it would run this time. No dice. It lets me update Spy-bot, but nothing else. I had Sophos running on my computer and it popped up saying that it had encountered an error and had to close. I then tried to install AVG. It got to almost the end of the installation and then told me that it had encountered an error during installation and couldn't complete. I attempted installation two more times. I then installed Avira, but could not open it after installation. After trying to open that for a while, I installed McAfee. It too will not open. This is the HijackThis log:

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  
• Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  
• The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  
• Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  
• When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  
• The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  

Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

I have tried multiple times to download this. After 10 minutes waiting on the page that says 'finishing installation' with the bar full to completion, I finally get though to the screen that asks if I would like to check for updates and launch MBAM. I click to check for updates and then launch, and then the window disappears and nothing else happens. I have done this about 8 times now. What am I doing wrong? Its tempting to call it a PEBKAC, but I think my computer is conspiring against me.

That should do it, it was just a new variant of a well known family of rootkits.

Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /uninstall

This will also reset your restore points.

Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer in order to prevent future malware infections. 1) Please navigate to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download all the "critical updates" for Windows. This can patch many of the security holes through which attackers can gain access to your computer.

Hello.

Please disable Ad-Watch, as it may hinder the removal of some HijackThis entries. You can re-enable it after your computer is clean. Please see here for instructions on how to disable it:

1. Right-click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray (located down by the system clock for most configurations)
2. Choose *Settings* from the dropdown menu
3. Under the *General Settings* tab turn OFF (red x) the option to "Load Ad-Watch at Startup" (if enabled)

4. Click on the *Status* button in the left hand menu
5. Turn OFF (red x) the option for *Regshield*
6. Close that window, then right-click on the Ad-Watch icon shield again down in the system tray next to the clock.
7. Choose *Turn off Ad-Watch* from the drop menu

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

Please make sure Teatimer is disable before we do this, otherwise this fix will fail.
