Backdoor.Tidserv!inf

Hi! I have actually had the same symantec msg pop up again, but unlike before it's not continuous and it doesn't slow down the computer. It's the same thing and pops up maybe every couple of hours or so...

I did originally find this website: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2008-111113-1112-99&tabid=3 with removal instructions which I wasn't really comfortable with following since I really don't understand much about this, so I don't really know if this is relevant.

Anyways, it doesn't really affect me since it's not causing the internet to go slow and it's not continuously popping up like before, but it's still doing it so I don't know if I should be worried and if more measures need to be taken..

We need to make a new restore point.

To turn off System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.

Now we need to make a new restore point.
To turn on System Restore, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the System Restore tab.
3. Click the Turn off System Restore check box (To turn on System Restore), and then click OK.

That should flush any infection restore points away.
