computer doesn't boot

hey,

I took out the power supply from my computer to test another computer and when put it back in the original computer the original computer won't start. I labelled all the cables and stuff when i did it so im am very sure i have all the cables plugged in. Can someone help me please?

There must be some cable which is loose and not properly connected. Make sure that the switch on the power supply is on too.

ive checked them all like 15 times. should i un plug the cables and replug them back in?

i dnt think so because it was working fine until i took it out. anyway gonna go home and try replugging everything right now

It could be damaged. Maybe your 2nd computer is running at a higher frequency than the power supply has.

no the two computers are the exact same models. everything in them are completely identical. hey doctor inferno got any suggestions on what i should do now?

I'm running our of ideas here. There could be a possibility that you have accidentally damaged any of the ports on the motherboard. Does the power supply still work on the other computer?

yeah power supply still works. you can see the green light on the motherboard that lights up when the power supply is switched on. would replacing the motherboard fix this if i damaged one of the ports? thanks for your help

Yes, if you replace Motherboard your supply should work fine on new one.

i have a spare motherboard that is exactly the same but i took out that button battry on the motherboard once but put it back in and my brother has also tried replacing another computer's motherboard with this one but it didn't work so he took it back out. does all that matter

I think your motherboard is broken, but lets try something, maybe we could fix problem.

• Shutdown your PC, unplug all cables from power.
  
• Open it and find little battery on your Motherboard.
  
• 
  
• Please, be careful with motherboard.
  
• Remove the battery with your fingers.
  
• Find your RAM memory, and remove it.
  
• Remove power supply connector from motherboard, also CD/DVD drive and Hard Disc Drive cables.
  
• CLEAN you computer inside with some brush.
  
• Leave computer for more than 2 minutes without battery and RAM, cables and others stuff we disconnected, than put it inside motherboard again.
  
• Plug-in your cables and turn On PC.

If this steps didn't help you, some components are still there and work, you should visit some of PC store and ask them is it possible to fix motherboard problem.

If they can't, only thing you can do - > Buy new motherboard.

That's the bad news

left it for like 10 minutes while i cleaned but stilldidnt work. i did try booting computer without ram a few days ago and there was no error beep from cumputer. thanks for ur help though
